Version 3.5 introduces important extensions to the Vypress Messenger system, especially major efficiency enhancements for handling large volumes of messages. It also features a range of usability and appearance improvements, impressive operation speed and even better reliability and compatibility.

Below is a short overview of the several most important changes in the latest version.

Messages Navigation

• Now you can navigate through all of the sent and received messages via a convenient tree-based panel. You can see all messages sorted in dialog order.

• Version 3.5 distinguishes between read and unread messages, so that you will never miss any important incoming messages anymore.

• Notification icon now shows unread messages count, not all of the received messages.

• You can group messages into self-assumed groups, simply moving them across the navigation panel.

• You can print, save or delete all of the incoming messages from a particular sender or group with a single mouse click.

• Messages Navigation panel can be hidden to keep the previous Messenger appearance.

Interface Enhancements

• This version includes brand-new true color icons for toolbar buttons and menu items.

• Vypress Messenger 3.5 introduces graphics emoticons support, which allows you to share feelings better. You don’t have to remember the keystroke — just click the emoticon you would like to send to a friend ().

• This version features an improved appearance under Windows XP, adding a flat border for rich text edit boxes, new style grippers and some other enhancements.

• Quoted text is highlighted with a special color to enhance message apperceiving.

Logging Improvements

• Messages Logging dialog now moved into the View menu for faster and simplified access.

• User now can customize the log file format.

Saving and Restoring Messages

• Since version 3.5 users can save message not only as a plain text file, but also as a restorable .vmsg file.

• Now it is possible to store a specific set of messages (from a sender, entire group, all sent messages and so on) in a specific format.

• User can open the .vmsg file in Vypress Messenger.

SMB Messaging

• This version recognizes only the three names over SMB (WinPopup) protocol: current user name, computer name and Vypress Messenger’s Nickname. This makes the application compatible with some third-party utilities (such as some anti-virus programs) that are also required to use SMB protocol.

Windows XP Compatibility

• This version features an improved appearance under Windows XP, adding a flat border for rich text edit boxes, new style grippers and some other enhancements.

• This version fully supports Windows Error Reporting.

• Vypress Messenger is now certified by Microsoft as a Designed for Windows XP application.
